As with other Gateways, it works by emulating the CD changer (in most cases) in the vehicle using of the original radio controls. The Gateway 500S is available in 2 different hardware versions: • Single FOT (GW53MO1) !!Now you are looking a version with single FOT – one MOST optical transmitter!!This version is for cars with no external CD-Changer or you don’t want to keep it in system. Audi car is exceptional – with single FOT (this one) version you may keep OEM CD-Changer functional (Audi MOST system let you use several CD-Changers simultaneously). • Dual FOT (GW53MO2) This version comes with 2 optical transmitters for external OEM CD-changer. This version is needed in Porsche, BMW and Mercedes-Benz cars with OEM external CD-Changer (CDC) and you want to keep it function (CD-changer’s MOST connects directly to 2nd optical transmitter). Still – you can easily install dual FOT (this one) version in the car with no external CD-Changer and left 2nd optical transmitter spare.
