The signature is illegible; however, it has been attributed to David Teniers the Younger (1610-1690), a prolific and versatile Flemish artist. He worked with many mediums such as painting, printmaking, and drafting. Based on the building architecture and clothing present the scene is most likely of a 17th-century Belgian village. The festival activities include dancing around the Maypole, gathering around a barrel for drinks, and music from a bagpipe player. The piece has been created by oil paint on canvas, which has been stretched overboard. It is professionally framed in a gold aged frame. The piece itself is 15″ wide by 19″ high.
