When collecting condition is everything, and you’ll be hard pressed to find another in this condition!This pan was from the estate of a gentleman who’s father was the farmer for the original Milton Hershey School. The reason they were pulled and no longer used, is because they had used lead in the corners to solder and seal them up, these were the originals. It was acknowledged in the early 1900s that lead and lead-containing paint was a main source of lead poisoning among children, and the use of lead in, and on, products such as food items, paint, children’s toys or cribs was banned in several countries by the end of the 1920s. Milton Hershey School HistoryMilton Hershey School began as a dream and vision shared by chocolate magnate Milton S. Hershey and his wife, Catherine (Kitty). The Hersheys loved children but were unable to have their own. Instead, they decided to use their wealth to create a home and school for orphaned boys.
